Wafer-thin version of the tablet will be used to control the latest range of Apple TVs

Latest Apple TV will incorporate iPad mini

The new Apple TV slated for release at the end of the year is rumoured to be controlled by a new ultra-thin iPad mini.

A source in Asia has reportedly told SmartHouse that the new tablet device will be half the size of the regular iPad and will allow users to access TV programs, music and movies through a number of included applications, as well as manage their own content.

It will also incorporate Apple’s app store, meaning users will be able to use the device to watch videos and play games, as well as read their favourite books and publications.

Described as wafer thin, the device was recently rumoured to measure in at just 7.2mm by Japanese blog Macotakara – making the device slimmer than both Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Google’s Nexus 7 tablets.
