Sale manager appointed for new division

Gem adds new design and sourcing division

Gem has added a brand new division to its portfolio of retail services.

The Exspect business unit within Gem will be known as Gem Design & Sourcing (GDS). The Expect brand will serve as a product-only label available to retail.

The new division will focus on delivering retail own-label products that offer differentiation in design and quality.

Mike Sanderson, general manager for GDS commented: “After six successful years developing the Exspect brand over many categories we felt it to be the right time to expand our offering, services, experiences and expertise to a greater range of product, brands and retail opportunities, under the new GDS division.”

This launch will also see Joanne Gilman appointed as the UK sales manager for GDS.

Gilman joins the division from Magicbox, a design-led brand selling into the audio and telecoms market.

"Working alongside Gem’s Business Development team, Jo can skilfully offer retail products with a point of difference, which will in turn offer improved margins. I’m delighted with Jo’s appointment and look forward to watching GDS develop," said Sanderson.
