Company plans to bring a theme park to the UK

Hundreds of Angry Birds activity parks planned for China says Rovio

Rovio has confirmed the first Angry Birds activity park in Haining, China, and plans to build hundreds more.

After an unofficial Angry Birds theme park opened up in China, Rovio created an official one in Finland that opened back in April. The company plans to eventually open up theme parks in the UK and US.

However, Rovio’s plan for the franchise in China is to open up a large number of smaller activity parks.

“Instead of building one massive amusement park, we’re planning to build hundreds, maybe even thousands of activity parks here in China.” Said Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka.

Earlier this month PCR reported that the Angry Birds series has been downloaded over one billion times, and the latest offering, Angry Birds Space, was the most popular game in the UK throughout Q1 2012.
