Social network giant Twitter has revealed it now has ten million active users in the UK, including @PCR_Online. Quite a large portion of our little island, eh?
Furthermore, apparently Brits prefer to Tweet on the go, with 80 per cent using mobile phones to access the service.
For those of you that doubt the figures at hand, Twitter says these are ‘active users’ that log in at least once every 30 days.
Similarly, Twitter now has 140 million active users worldwide, out of 400 million registered accounts in total.
@TwitterUK said: "Snapshot of Twitter in the UK: 10m active users, 80% of which are also active on mobile. And an office that’s been open almost a year!
"We think looking at the number of active users is a more useful stat than tracking registered accounts."
How many of these are IT/technology retailers, we wonder? And how many find Twitter genuinely useful as a business tool? Please comment below if you have an opinion on the matter, or talk to us on Twitter itself at @PCR_Online.
