Steven May of Innergie opened up PCR’s first ever Retail Boot Camp with a welcome speech talking about the questions retailers should be answering.
Inngerie was born out of Delta Electronics, a company which has been selling products for over twenty years. Delta started up after May had a meeting with three young, fresh faced designers back in 1991, one of whom went on the work for Apple, notably on the Apple TV.
May explained that the success of Delta and now Innergie was to find key questions, then answer them. One example he gave was something almost everyone can relate to. Where do you want to charge your laptop?
Innergie thought about this question, then went ahead and created a laptop charger that could be used in the home, in a car and on a plane.
With regards to the day’s exhibition, May advised visitors to ‘Go out and find the products that will inspire the customers to buy for you.’
