BT to offer Fibre-to-the-Premises on demand

BT is to offer installation of Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) internet on demand to all customers in pre-existing Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) areas.

According to PC Pro, the network operator will be offering upgrades to the 300Mbit/s service from Spring next year.

BT has apparently been trialling FTTP on demand for the past 18 months, and plans to pitch the service primarily at small and medium business rather than consumers, with prices yet to be announced.
