As we head towards the big VIP dealer event on Wednesday May 2nd, PCR speaks to the sponsors of PCR Retail Boot Camp

PCR RETAIL BOOT CAMP PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: Arctic Cooling

Here PCR talks to Platinum Partner Arctic’s senior sales manager Brice Vandevoorde about his company’s plans for the conference & expo, and beyond…

How important is it for the UK PC industry to have a dedicated event for retailers?

Retailers are the actors of the industry, the ones offering the products to end consumers. Therefore it is essential for them first to see, touch and play with the products, but also to understand the products and allow them to pass on that knowledge to their customers. Also getting all the retailers together will help to create a good synergy in the industry; it is always better to chat around a drink rather than via emails.

What do you see being the key issues facing PC retailers in 2011?

PC related products and consumer electronics are by definition products that evolve and move very fast. It is always a challenge to have the latest product available without losing a focus on the core product range. Another issue is to find and keep reliable manufacturers and distributors on board to focus on the end consumers.

What products/services will you be promoting at the event this year?

We are well known and established in the computer components sector, so we are coming to introduce our new ranges our power and sound solutions, which are focused on the user experience but are also friendly on the wallet. Our growing digital home category will open the eyes of the consumers about today’s possibilities and tomorrow’s dreams

Why should retailers look out for the Arctic stand at the PCR Retail Boot Camp?

This is a great opportunity to meet the brand representative and the distributor at the same time.

What are your projections for 2012?

We should keep growing 20 per cent each year thanks to our long term partners being happy to list more products in our increasing ranges, but also thanks to new partnerships. We want as well to achieve the same success with our new product ranges that we have with our computer components.

If there was one thing you¹d change in the PC/tech industry, what would it be?

Something everybody is looking for – better margins!

What distinguishes you from your competitors?
In terms of products, we focus on innovation. In terms of relationships, we are Swiss and conservative, so we look for long term relationships, and for our success we rely on our long terms partners. PCR Boot Camp will be the opportunity for retailers not familiar with us to make up their own mind and this is why are taking part in the event.

PCR Retail Boot Camp is an exciting new conference and expo for the UK PC and IT channel, taking place on Wednesday May 2nd at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London. It is free for retailers to attend and will provide a day of conference sessions, expo showcases and networking – all designed to help dealers improve their business.

In addition, there will be a series of ‘Break-Out Sessions’ during the afternoon, giving distributors and vendors the opportunity to present technical or service sessions with smaller groups of dealers.

Meanwhile, an after-show party, sponsored by VIP, will provide networking opportunities to round off the day’s events.

Dealers can register their interest in attending the event by emailing pcrbootcamp@intentmedia.co.uk.

Micro-P is the Connected Home Partner of PCR Retail Boot Camp, with Platinum Partners including EntaTech, GData, VIP and Arctic, plus Wasp and TP-Link as Gold Partners.
