Momentum builds as GfK director asks: 'Where do we go from here?'

PCR RETAIL BOOT CAMP: First conference speaker announced

The momentum for PCR Retail Boot Camp continues to build, with GfK director Carl West the first to step up to the mic.

Business Group Director of the IT, Office and Stationery markets at the powerful market intelligence specialist GfK, West has a wide-ranging knowledge of the PC and IT industry. With a background in software and hardware sales as a vendor and in distribution, he boasts a great understanding of channel distribution, the public/corporate channel and the internal dynamics of the retail and reseller markets.

His presentation at Boot Camp, ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’, will be centred around the lessons from the past and the opportunities of the future. In the current economic climate, UK retail has embraced a race to the bottom when it comes to price. Discount pricing does increase volume, but does it increase market value at a time when average selling prices are on the increase?

A must-attend presentation for all dealers, it will provide a retail industry health check, highlighting areas to avoid and opportunities for 2012. Key points will include:-

The Past
State of retail/etail
Product winners and losers

The Present
IT outselling TV
The race to the bottom

The Future
Shooting stars of 2012
Through a window we see a cloud
