iOS 5.0.1 beta already pushed out to developers

Apple confirms iPhone 4S battery bug, fix on the way

Apple has confirmed that the unusually low battery life seen by some iPhone 4S owners is down to a bug in iOS 5.

Some iPhone 4S owners found that battery life was very low and a number of workarounds circulated that improved matters for some users including disabling the time zone feature.

Apple have now confirmed that a bug in iOS 5 is to blame but characteristically refused to be drawn on what users might do as a workaround.

"We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks," Apple said in a statement.

Recently an iOS 5.0.1 beta was made available to developers which was described as fixing bugs affecting battery life.
