MMO will now have simultaneous global launch

UK release date moved for Star Wars: The Old Republic

Bioware and LucasArts have announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic will now see a global release on December 20th, a move that means European gamers get access to the title two days earlier than planned.

The game’s developers spoke at the New York Comic Con last week. As well as the new launch date, they revealed a few tantalising snippets about the game – for example, your physical appearance changes as you move towards the light or dark side.

They also mentioned that it’s seen a whopping 4.8 million hours of test time from gamers so far, and around 200,000 forum posts per week for the developers to sift through.

The game will come with a month of free game time, but after that it’s £8.99 per month, just like World of Warcraft, and you can make some savings by taking up one of the bulk-time offers, such as £25.17 for three months or £46.14 for six months.

You can read (what was) a live blog of the panel at Comic Con over at Darth Hater.
