Tonight’s Apple iPhone launch

Although we know there will be an announcement at 6.pm GMT, as usual that’s about all we know.

The event is under the tagline of ‘Let’s Talk iPhone’, so unless the firm is being even more cagey than usual, it’s a safe best that it will be some kind of mobile phone launch. We’ll be bringing you the news as it breaks.

Speculation is rife as to whether it will be the next full iteration of the iPhone – the iPhone 5 – or a minor update with the ‘S’ suffix.

The rumour mill is also in full spin as to whether new CEO Tim Cook will run the event solo, or if Steve Jobs will make an appearance.
