Partnership effective immediately. Updated: Distributor also inks deal with Huawei

Micro-P announces alliance with Tripp Lite

IT distributor Micro-P has announced an alliance with Tripp Lite, a manufacturer of power protection and infrastructure equipment. The partnership will be supported by PowerIT-2-Channel, which helps take growth brands to market in Europe.

"We’re delighted to add Tripp Lite to our range of power and connectivity solutions," said Simon Barnard, general manager, technical sales at Micro-P. Resellers will appreciate the opportunity to make excellent margins whilst offering a well known brand and differentiating themselves from their competitors.

"Tripp Lite will be a great partner as we continue to grow our portfolio and customer base in specific vertical market segments, and will assist us in our ambitions to drive into the enterprise space."

Tripp Lite, well established in the US and offering over 3,000 products, is hoping to bring a renewed focus to its channel strategy in the UK by partnering with Micro-P, with the aim of offering a broader selection of products at competitive price points.

Darwin Haines, VP – Europe/Asia sales, said: “Our products are used in just about every vertical sector, from investment banks in London, retail outlets in Paris, through to mineral mines in Peru. Market leading distribution partners such as Micro-P are key to providing the channel with the business solutions and services they require to support these customers."

Update: Micro-P today announced it had also inked a deal with Huawei to distribute its products.

Micro-P will stock a range of Huawei products from core and edge networking and routing appliances up to telepresence solutions and offer expert help to the channel on all products.

Barnard commented: "We are very excited to bring this opportunity to the UK market. With IT budgets challenged across the board now is a great time for Huawei to enter the UK channel and offer resellers and end users a credible alternative to existing vendors. Huawei enables end users to keep functionality and quality, whilst lowering their capital expenditure, and in addition to offering resellers a fantastic margin opportunity.

"The global size and scale of Huawei make it one of the few tech giants yet to enter the UK market and the opportunity to partner with it will be attractive to a wide range of our reseller partners.”
