IFA: Toshiba introduces FlashAir WiFi memory card

Toshiba announced an integrated SDHC memory card called the FlashAir which features WiFi.

The FlashAir is said to be the first SDHC memory card to offer integrated WiFi which meets the SD memory card standard. The device is also able to transfer files peer-to-peer, in order words to other digital cameras with FlashAir devices.

The device is touted as being much easier to use than previous integrated memory card WiFi devices. The FlashAir sets up its own WiFi network, allowing other devices to connect, browse and download files on the memory card.

The 8GB Class 6 FlashAir will not turn up until February next year and the firm has yet to announce pricing.
