22 more ‘fake’ Apple Stores found in China

Fake Chinese Apple Stores are reportedly more common than was first revealed with Chinese authorities ‘discovering’ 22 additional unlicensed Apple resellers.

Rather than being more widely afield in China as you might expect, all of the additional 22 unauthorised Apple retailers are also in the vicinity of the South Eastern city of Kunming.

A Reuters report said the stories were ordered to remove Apple logos, according to a Reuters report, after Apple China complained of unfair competition. Quite how selling Apple’s own products is unfair competition remained unexplained by the state media reporting on the story.

Following an American blogger revealing near-perfect Apple Stores in Kunming last month, the world-wide publicity resulted in the Kunming city authorities beginning widespread inspections of computer retailers.
