Apple commands nearly two thirds of mobile web in the US

iPad web browsing is one per cent of world browsing

The Apple iPad tablet now accounts for one per cent of the world’s web browsing according to a new NetMarketShare report.

The internet usage share analysis outfit NetMarkerShare also revealed that mobiles and tablet PCs now account for five per cent of all web browsing world wide and in the US it was even higher at 8.2 per cent.

The Apple-loving US market also saw the iPhone capture 2.9 per cent of browsing, ahead of Android devices on 2.6 per cent. Yet the iPhone and iPad combined amounted to 5 per cent of all North American web browsing.

The growth in internet usage on Apple’s iOS platforms is approaching the point where Apple devices account for two thirds of mobile web browsing the he US market.
