Apotheker moves to oversee customer-facing business

HP in executive management shake-up

Hewlett-Packard announced a reshuffle of the IT giant’s executive management team..

HP said that the role of chief administrative officer would be removed with the current Pete Bocian leaving the company.

Another departure is CIO Randy Mott, again leaving the firm immediately. HP said the scope of the role was being expanded and that the firm has begun the hunt for a successor.

"In our ongoing effort to accelerate our progress in executing our strategy, we will continue to make the necessary changes that streamline our operations, drive focus and agility, and position us for success," said Apotheker in a release.

29-year HP career veteran Ann Livermore is also to step down from heading the firm’s Enterprise business unit, having been elected to a position on the firm’s board of directors.

HP painted the changes as a move to realign the firm’s corporate structure to the strategy Apotheker unveiled in March. One of the key changes is that customer facing business units will now report directly to Apotheker.
