Uncharacteristic move ahead of developer conference

Apple says iCloud will be revealed next week

Apple announced that that the firm would unveil Mac OS X ‘Lion’ and the iCloud upcoming cloud service at the iPhone-maker’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference next week.

Ailing chief Steve Jobs will present Lion and the iOS 5 operating system for iPhones, iPods and iPads with his fellow executives at a keynote address on Monday the 6th of June.

While the operating system updates were expected, Apple revealing the name of the much-rumoured cloud service is something out of character for the secretive company.

At the D9 conference in Las Vegas, Google CEO Eric Schmidt admitted the internet giant’s relationship with Google had gotten ‘rough’ but said that Apple had renewed an agreement to provide Google Maps on iOS devices.
