Intel boosts SSD warranty to five years

Intel has increased the warranty period on the firm’s new generation of Intel SSD 320 Series of solid state drives from three years to five years.

The lengthier warranty will also apply to all Intel SSD 320 Series drives already sold in a move which the chipmaker says was a result of the firm being "Confident in the enhanced reliability features" of the SSD 320 Series.

Intel published a dedicated Solid-State Drive web site which aims to educate users on the benefits of Solid-State drives including "high reliability and longer life-span than tradition hard drives," they said.

The web site also offers prouct comparisons, advice on where to buy Intel SSDs and also offers a range of software tools to help manage Intel SSDs.
