Latest high-speed memory cards supported

Lexar USB 3.0 card reader is six times faster

Lexar announced a USB 3.0 equipped dual-slot memory card reader which aims to dramatically reduces image transfer time.

The Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader is armed with a 500MB/second USB 3.0 port and twin card slots providing compatibility for Compact Flash UDMA, SDXC and SD UHS-I card formats as well as legacy Compact Flash, SD and SDHC memory cards.

Lexar said that testing showed that the fastest high-performance memory cards could be read more than six times faster than the previous generation of USB 2.0-based card readers.

"The speed offered by the reader enables users to move large volumes of high-resolution images and HD video faster than ever, allowing them to spend less time at the PC and more time on other activities," said Lexar marketing boss Manish Sharma.

The Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader is available now from Lexar’s US site directly, appearing in the channel in June with an MSRP of $49.99. No European pricing and availability was announced.
