Intel to unveil ‘next generation netbook’ platform

Intel will focus on mobility technologies such as the firm’s next-generation Atom at the IDF Beijing conference on the 12 of April.

Umpcportal.com drew attention to a number of of details from am IDF Beijing session called "designing a New Generation of Netbooks with the Intel Atom Processor," in which the Intel announced that it would provide the first look at the next-generation Intel Atom processor platform.

The firm also tantalised with mention of "Intel WiFi solutions that deliver new notebook usage models," whatever that might be. Umpcportal speculated that this relates to wireless display and audio features.

Fanless netbook designs and ‘exciting demonstrations’ were also said to be part of the IDF Beijing session next month.
