Promotes use of free web tools for the big day

Google sets up wedding planning site

Google has produced a website which aims to show how Google’s free tools can be used to plan a wedding.

The site presents Google tools such as Google Sites, Picnik, Google Docs and Picasa Web Albums in the context of "saving time, staying organised and having fun while planning your big day", they said.

Each of the links to the Google tools shows off applications and designs specifically tailored to organising weeddings.

"Google Sites makes it easy to customize and edit your wedding website to fit your event and share the information you want. Tell people your engagement story and wedding details using one of the custom designs," said Google.

The creative designs used in the examples were created in collaboration with the wedding planner Michelle Rago. Rago also offers her own wedding organisation tips on subjects including determining the wedding day budget and choosing guests.

The Google Weddings site is here.
