The Apple chief could be back to oversee iPad 2 launch

Steve Jobs returns from medical leave?

Steve Jobs has been spotted at Apple HQ in California despite officially being on medical leave, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The sighting should lessen the worry of those in the industry who doubted whether Jobs would remain at Apple, or be forced to resign due to ill health.

In 2009 the iconic CEO left the company to focus on recovery, following a period of illness which resulted in a liver transplant.

Insiders had reported that Jobs was playing a lesser role at Apple, and had not been looking himself in the weeks up to his most recent leave.

However, even during leave Jobs remains CEO and makes the vital decisions. In the meantime, COO Tim Cook has been responsible for the day-to-day running of things.

Rumours on the release of a new iPad and a new range of MacBook Pro’s could signal a return to the stage for Apple’s main man.
