Up to four SATA drives can be used via USB and eSATA

Startech launches external SATA drive dock

Startech has launched a pair of SATA hard drive docking stations which the company says are the first to support four drives simultaneously.

The SATDOCK4U3E supports up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or solid-state drives and provides USB 3.0 and eSATA connections to a host computer with data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps and 3Gbps respectively.

The SATDOCK4U2E eschews the USB 3.0 port and goes for two USB 2.0 interfaces with support for swappable access to four drives from multiple computers.

Both drive docks feature independent power and eject buttons and dual variable-speed cooling fans.

The SATDOCK4U3E has a US MSRP of $189.99 and the SATDOCK4U2E of $186.99 with both available now directly from StarTech.com and the wider US retail channel.

No pricing or availability was provided for the European market.
