iTunes App Store gets a Twitter account

Apple’s iTunes App Store now has a Twitter account which the firm will use to promote various applications for iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

"Follow us for official App Store tweets including our featured apps, exclusive offers, and more," says the verified App Store account @AppStore.

The latest update on the new Twitter account is the physics-based puzzle game Tiki Towers 2: Monkey Republic while the an earlier tweet promoted Nike Training Club.

The move follows the 10 billionth App Store download.
