The Social Network picks up four awards at US ceremony

Facebook film cleans up at Golden Globes

The Social Network, based on the rising fortunes of Facebook and founder Mark Zuckerberg, picked up four Golden Globes yesterday, having achieved significant critical acclaim since its release.

The film, which was nominated for six awards, took home Best Original Score, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Movie.

Director David Fincher thanked Zuckerberg on stage, reportedly calling him "a great entrepreneur, a great visionary and an incredible altruist".

In places the film paints a less than flattering image of the billionaire’s rise to fortune, though the swathes of PR it has presumably given the social networking site seems to have staved off any response from his lawyers.
