Teams up with PrimeSense to introduce motion sensing device

Asus to build Kinect-like PC peripheral

The firm that developed the motion sensing technology in the Xbox Kinect is to team up with Asus to offer a PC-based motion sensor for television-connected PCs.

The strangely named WAVI Xtion is a joint development between PrimeSense and Asus and takes the form of a peripheral that can be used on any computer.

The WAVI Xtion will be demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show while the firms will also be promoting an SDK to allow developers to integrate support for the Kinect-like peripheral into their PC applications and games.
