Valve kicks off massive Steam Holiday Sale

Digital game retailer Steam has kicked off the Steam Holiday Sale with a selection of daily specials, game bundles and publisher catalogue offerings.

The retailer says there will be thousands of games on sale, ensuring that no matter where gamers get trapped this Christmas they’ll be able to find a bargain, download and get playing in no time.

Some of the top sellers include 50 per cent off Bioware’s Mass Effect 2 RPG, going for just $19.99 / £9.99, 75% off Darksiders for $9.99 / £4.99, 50 per cent off Deadrising 2 for $19.99 / £14.99 and 25 per cent off latest Fallout instalment, Fallout New Vegas for $37.49 / £22.49.

Publisher packs include the top games from publishers such as 2K, THQ, Bethesda, Rockstar, Square Enix, Epic Games and a Valve Complete Pack of all Valve’s PC games for $49.99 or £24.99.

A large number of publishers are also offering blanket discounts on their games via the Steam platform through to the final day of the sale on the 2nd of January.

With Steam also having the ability to gift games to others, the sale is also a good opportunity for that ultra last minute gift. Valve also said that over 125 Mac games would also be on sale. At time of writing, Civilization IV was available for just £2.49.
