Acer launches slimline multimedia Revo 100 PC

Acer has launched a slimeline multimedia desktop called the Acer Revo 100 which, the firm says, offers a “sleek contemporary design with powerful multimedia capabilities.”

The PC maker is pitching the Revo 100 as a home network host, bundling software the firm calls which it describes as “an application that runs on your home network and automatically discovers all your household devices and then letting you find, share, play, store and enjoy all your multimedia content anywhere in your home in an easy, intuitive and innovative way.”

The Revo 100 is powered by an Athlon II Neo dual-core processor and NVIDIA Ion graphics, all housed in a matte black slimline case which may be used on a removable vertical stand or placed horizontally like Hi-Fi equipment. Concealed in the case is the ‘RevoPad’, a dual-mode wireless touchpad.

“Press the toggle button to transform the RevoPad into a touch keyboard to easily type any amount of text with your fingers. Another tap on the toggle button and you have a multi-gesture large touchpad that lets you move the curser and then browse, rotate and zoom in/out with intuitive finger movements,” Acer said in a release.

Powered by Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, the Acer Revo 100 is available now for £599.
