The UK branch of the world’s largest etailer Amazon has issued warnings about deliveries due to “adverse weather conditions” in the run up to Christmas.
Posting a delivery FAQ, Amazon said that “Some of our carriers are experiencing delivery delays to certain areas of the UK. If you are affected by the snow or live in a county affected, your delivery may be delayed by 1-2 days.”
Amazon has removed some guaranteed delivery timeframe options unless the firm is confident that it can meet the delivery guarantee. Amazon said that the delivery choices available would be apparent at the point of checkout.
The company also warned that deliveries outside the UK may also be delayed by one or two days due to delays with freight services at airports.
Shopping at Amazon or elsewhere, anyone in the UK would be well advised to consider extra delivery times if ordering Christmas shopping online.
