Microsoft sells 1m Kinects in 10 days

Microsoft claims it has sold over 1m Kinect cameras in the 10 days since the device first launched.

According to Xbox chief Don Mattrick, the firm is still on track to sell 5m units by the end of the year.

Kinect launced in North America two weeks ago, and a week ago in the UK and Europe.

Its success here in Britain helped the UK High Street towards a headline-grabbing £113m grossing week – the higest ever (the number was mostly driven by Call of Duty Black Ops, mind).

"It’s a strong start," said Mattrick, head of Microsoft’s game unit, in an interview with MSNBC (a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC Universal.
