Sex and the City?s Sarah Jessica Parker helps launch designer clothing website

Google enters the fashion world

Google has made a foray in to the fashion world, with the launch of its fashion portal reputedly called Boutiques.com.

According to Drapers, the website will be launched this week and will allow users to create and share style preferences and list favourite brands. Although visitors will not be able to actually make transactions, there will be able to link to the online stores of brands or retailers.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Sex and the City actress and chief creative officer for New York fashion house Halston, is said to be aiding the launch by creating her own online shop, while Google is reported to be enlisting the aid of at least 19 other designers, including Oscar de la Renta and Marchesa, to do the same.
