The Asus Lamborghini Eee PC VX6 netbook has gone on sale in the UK, wrapping an Atom D525 dual core CPU and Nvidia Ion 2 graphics inside a super car-branded 12.1-inch chassis.
The model is similar to the well received 1215N, combining Intel’s latest dual-core Atom with Nvidia Ion 2 graphics with Optimus technology. The 12.1-inch VX6 offers completely different styling, however, and bundles 2GBof RAM, 250GB HD, 802.11n wireless, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI output and Bang & Olufsen audio.
“The stunning Eee PC VX6 ultraportable takes inspiration from the Murcielago LP640 Roadster and epitomises the magnificence and power of the automotive star through a combination of sleek lines, an elegant glossy exterior in black or white and the Lamborghini badge adorning the lid,” Asus said in a release.
Such hefty netbook specs and Lamborghini styling commands a premium with the VX6 set to go on sale imminently at £499. By comparison, the equivalently specced but rather less flashy-styled Eee PC 1215N acan be found in retail for around £430.
Asus said the VX6 is available from a range of retailers including www.pcworld.co.uk, Micro Anvika, www.ebuyer.com and www.laptopsdirect.co.uk.
