Highly-anticipated flagship smartphone to hit retail

Nokia starts shipping N8 handset

Nokia has started to ship its N8 smartphone, with those who placed a pre-order in Nokia Online Shops and Nokia retail stores the first to receive the device.

The firm says market availability will vary by country and by operator, with broad availability in the coming weeks.

In the UK it will cost £429 SIM-free. However, other channels will start selling the phone on monthly contracts starting from £35.

Nokia says O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Three, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone will all be selling the N8, along with Carphone Warehouse, Phones4u and Tesco.
