Apple Peel turns iPods in to iPhones

The Apple Peel 520, a device that allows users to phone and text messaging functionality to their iPod Touch is to be released in the United States.

According to PC World, the device was developed in China where it has already hit shelves, and takes the form of a protective case equipped with a dock connector, battery and SIM card.

The developer of the device, Yosion Technology, has reportedly signed an agreement with an American solar technology company called GoSolarUSA, that will see it file a US patent and award it distribution rights.

Demonstration models will be arriving in the United States this week.

“As soon as they arrive, we’ll begin distributing demonstration models to retail buyers across the country,” said GoSolarUSA’s chief executive, Tyson Rohde. “The amount of interest in this product that we’ve received from distributors has been staggering.”
