Improved search results focus on visual richness and news trends

Yahoo makes search ?entertaining?

Yahoo is in the process of upgrading its search service to offer a much more ‘entertaining’ experience than previously.

Powered by Bing, the new results page will focus on top trends in news and offer a “visually compelling” experience that will “let you discover information and be entertained all on one search result page.”

Entertainment searches with the new version will receive results that combine images, news, videos, tweets, events and ratings accessed through a series of tabs, while a news search will be more conveniently organised, with images, videos, articles and tweets gathered together on a single page.

The changes will be rolled out over before the end of this year.
