Microsoft mimics Apple policy towards adult content in apps

Windows phone marketplace won?t allow porn

Microsoft has released its Windows Phone Developer Tools set, and has included guidelines on what will and won’t be allowed that seem very similar to those used for Apple’s iTunes.

According to MacWorld, sexual content and nudity will not be allowed, with the guideline specifically mentioning nipples and pubic hair as crossing the line.

With guidelines like that, it’s obvious that anything that falls under the category of ‘pornography’ is not allowed, but furthermore, “content that a reasonable person would consider to be adult or borderline adult content” is also not allowed.

Violence or implications of violence are to be banned from the marketplace, as well as depictions of any device that does not use Windows Mobile.
