Flip screen wonder to offer Windows 7 and dual-core Atom

Dell shows off 10-inch hybrid tablet netbook

Dell showed off a preview of an upcoming 10-inch hybrid netbook/tablet at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco.

The Inspiron Duo-branded device will be based on Windows 7 and a dual-core Intel Atom processor but the most interesting feature is the unique flip screen arrangement which allows switching between a tablet and a keyboard equipped netbook. 

In an apparent swipe at the Apple iPad, Dell marketing boss Dave Zavelson said: "There are times that you have to do work. Tablets are great for entertainment, but they aren’t exactly conducive to productivity."

Dell didn’t provide any further specifications, release date or pricing but it’s expected to arrive this year.
