Samsung has denied that its forthcoming potential iPad killer, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, has been priced at £799 – despite it being sold as such on Amazon’s UK site right now.
Samsung insisted to PCR that the price tag for the device is still very much TBC, and that it is still in discussions with partners and mobile operators. However the firm did reveal that it will launch in the UK before Christmas.
The price tag, which now appears to be erroneous, has caused a bit of controversy in the online community – with the cheapest of Apple’s market leading iPads selling for $429, it has been asserted that Samsung would struggle to compete with such a high priced rival.
The specs for the device include a Cortex A8 1.0GHz application processor, seven-inch TFT LCD display, 3G, wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity, email, voice and video calling, SMS, MMS functionality and Adobe Flash support – the latter a key advantage over Apple’s market leading device.
