Police launch trans-European swoop on file sharers

Police have raided seven sites in Sweden suspected of links to illegal file sharing, at the request of Belgian authorities.

The swoop is part of a wider joint operation by 14 European countries, including Norway, Belgium, Britain, Germany and Italy.

Computers and servers were seized following raids in Malmo, Eslöv, Umeå, Eskilstuna, and the Stockholm area. Police were after information on specific IP addresses for further investigation, as well as uncovering specific perpetrators.
