UK police are investigating the leak of potentially sensitive anti-terror material found on a USB memory stick outside a police station.
The Daily Star reported on Sunday that the memory stick had been found by a a businessman on the road outside a police station in Greater Manchester. The device was reportly marked with initials indicating the device belonged to the Greater Manchester Police Public Order Training Unit.
The files on the memory card were related to anti-terrorism measures and had been authored by the National Police Improvement Agency. The device also contained details about police officer sand their respective branches within the police force.
"We are aware of an article relating to the finding of a memory stick belonging to GMP by a member of the public," said Greater Manchester Police Superintendent Bryan Lawton. The police said they are looking into the device, what was contained on it and how it came to be lost.
