Hannspree joins Android tablet fray

Taiwanese manufacturer Hannspree is set to enter the Android tablet market with the introduction of a 10-inch tablet in November.

The Hannspree tablet will reportedly run the Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system and is based on an dual-core ARM A9 1GHz CPU and the Nvidia Tegra 2 graphics chipset. The new tablet is expected to be unveiled at IFA 2010 on Friday.

Hannspree’s entry will also come equipped with 16GB of flash, USB 2.0 and a mini HDMI video output. A micro SD card and Bluetooth will also be included while the battery is said to be good for 8 hours of HD video playback on its 1024 x 600 display,

Notebooknews.de, which broke news of the €399 tablet, also noted the planned 790g weight is heavier than one might expect. The site also promised video footage from IFA 2010.
