Twelfth member of spy ring tested code for the software giant

Russian spy at Microsoft

US authorities have deported another member of a Russian spy ring after working at Microsoft for several months.

According to the Washington Post, the man was named Alexey Karetnikov and was connected with the spy ring that included the now infamous Anna Chapman. He had been in the United States since October 2009 and lived in the Seattle area.

“He was just in the early stages; had just set up shop,” a federal official told the Washington Post, before adding that he had “obtained absolutely no information.”

Microsoft spokesman Lou Gellos confirmed that Karetnikov had worked at Redmond for nine months, but refused any further comment.
