Toshiba has unveiled what it claims is the world’s first dual-screen laptop running Windows 7, the Libretto W100.
The device, which looks like a slightly larger Nintendo DS, has two seven-inch touchscreens that can be used vertically like a book or horizontally with the lower display as a virtual keyboard.
According to Toshiba, users can drag and drop content, files or icons from one screen to the other with a simple sweep of the finger.
The W100’s lightweight design, wireless connectivity and touchscreen interface make it a serious contender among the slew of tablets hitting the market this year – despite Toshiba’s device technically being a small notebook.
The Libretto W100 will be available in selected EMEA countries in Q3 2010.
