Latest small-form factor machine packs double the graphical power in the same compact frame

Apple launches new Mac Mini

While much of Apple’s focus in recent months has been on its mobile efforts, with the iPad and iPhone 4 lapping up all the media attention, it hasn’t forgotten about its Mac business after all – despite internet claims to the contrary.

The firm has today launched a new version of the Mac Mini – a small form factor desktop machine which packs double the graphical power for the last model, thanks to a NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor.

The chassis measures 7.7 inches square and 1.4 inches thin, and Apple claims it is the most energy efficient desktop available.

“The sleek, aluminium Mac mini packs great features, versatility and value into an elegant, amazingly compact design,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing. “With twice the graphics performance, HDMI support and industry-leading energy efficiency, customers are going to love the new Mac mini.”

Prices for the new Mac Mini start at £649, with various bundles available for an extra cost.
