Microsoft today revealed its motion sensing technology for the Xbox 360, previously called Project Natal, will launch in November under the new moniker of Kinect.
The system is similar to the hugely successful Nintendo Wii, though Microsoft’s offering will not require the user to use a controller at all, relying instead on registering the players own movements.
A lavish launch event took place at this year’s video games trade show E3 in Las Vegas, involving a performance from Cirque du Soleil.
No details on pricing or regional variations have been revealed, though further details will emerge at Microsoft’s full press conference at around 6.30pm (GMT) from Vegas.
Meanwhile our sister site MCV reports that Italian ad on a consumer games site has outed a new-look Xbox 360, and claimed the device, with wi-fi as standard and 250GB storage, is compatible with Kinect.
