Bookies slash odds on iPhone victory

Bookmaker Paddy Power has cut the odds on the Apple iPhone outselling its next-gen rivals in 2010.

The not-so-surprising move comes following Apple’s recent announcement of the fourth generation of iPhone earlier this week. iPhone was the 4-6 favourite prior to the news of iPhone 4, but has been cut into odds of 4-9. The Google Nexus One has drifted from 5/2 in the betting and the Samsung Wave now 8/1.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power offered: “It looks certain that the iPhone will easily outsell its closets rivals this year. I guess the only question remaining is, by how much?”
