Retailer begins using media publishing solution to fulfil online orders

Tesco launches SoftWide

Tesco has begun using the SoftWide system to handle online software orders via its Tesco Entertainment website.

The SoftWide system, which has been developed by Tribeka, automatically burns content on to a CD or DVD and prints out a jewel case and any documentation, drastically reducing the time and storage usually required for such processes. It has already seen deployment with a number of large-scale retailers, with Tesco representing the first UK presence for the solution.

“This launch is amazing for us,” Tribeka’s COO Stephen Precious told PCR. “Tesco is the third biggest retailer in the world, so to see them deploy SoftWide is not just good news for us, but good news for Tesco customers as well.”

Tesco is backing the launch with a marketing campaign featuring introductory offers and clubcard points, followed by customer mail outs.
