NASCR considers reintroducing member deals

Trade body NASCR is considering bringing back special deals for its members, committee member Geoff Carr has said.

In a blog for PCR, Carr called on readers to let him know if they thought NASCR should re-introduce these member benefits.

“Without any trade deals that might get them extra business or profit, retailers aren’t interested in paying money to join. Perhaps it is worth looking again at getting great deals for members. I would love to hear your views,” he wrote.

NASCR previously scrapped member discounts and similar schemes in order to form better relationships with dedicated buying groups.

Carr added that the group would not be bringing back its popular SCoRE trade show, despite interest from members.

“Many people have expressed a wish to bring it back again – but it isn’t practical, as we have moved away from member benefits that are seen as more suited to buying groups,” he wrote.
