Industry veteran appointed after leaving Westcoast earlier this year

Andy Dow rejoins C2000 as marketing director

Andy Dow has joined Computer 2000 as director of marketing, ten years after originally leaving the firm.

Dow held a number of positions during his previous four-year term at C2000, including general manager of marketing.

He left fellow distributor Westcoast two months ago by mutual agreement, after working at the firm for seven years – most recently as the company’s director.

"I am delighted to be joining Computer 2000 at this stage of its evolution and excited by the opportunities opening up for the business,” Dow said. “The pace of change in distribution is increasing and marketing will play a key role in shaping the future success of channel programmes and helping resellers make the most of their opportunities."

Computer 2000’s managing director, Andy Gass, added: "We are delighted to welcome Andy back into our UK management team. He brings with him not only vast experience within major distribution and vendor organisations and in-depth knowledge of both volume and value models, but also a good understanding of our organisation and tremendous creativity, energy and enthusiasm. Andy will play a key role in helping us to continue the development of our collection of specialist businesses and in driving acceleration of business growth for our partners.”

Dow worked at Westcoast from 2000 until November 2007, when he left to lead Dell’s UK and Ireland operation. He returned to Westcoast in early 2009, but left the distributor for a second time in February this year. According to C2000, Dow had recently been running his own consultancy business.

C2000 also announced that its UK marketing director, Alice Smitheman, has been appointed to the newly created position of Azlan marketing director.
