Russian authorities investigate charges of bribery

HP?s Moscow offices raided

Hewlett Packard’s Moscow offices were raided as investigators look in to allegations of bribery regarding sale of equipment to the Russian Government.

According to the Financial Times, HP has confirmed that the raid took place but has refused to divulge details of the case, saying only that it involved “an investigation of alleged conduct that occurred almost seven years ago, largely by employees no longer with HP.”

The investigation was apparently initially launched in Germany, but has since expanded to involve Russian authorities as well, and concerns a contract for HP equipment that dates back to 2003.
